Darren Dzienciol is one of the leading L.A.-based nightlife impresarios, recognized for concepts that are revolutionizing the hospitality industry and entertainment scene. Dzienciol founded Bartelier Group in 2012, which develops, owns, operates, and promotes exclusive nightlife, dining and entertainment brands. Dzienciol’s Bartelier Group has just recently partnered with New York City nightlife veterans Scott Sartiano and Richie Akiva of Butter Group, which owns 1 OAK, The Darby and Butter, to open a Los Angeles flagship of 1 OAK on the Sunset Strip.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Dzienciol’s personality combined with his ambitious drive allowed him to capitalize on entrepreneurial opportunities at an early age. At 14, he started creating custom sneakers that were featured in music videos by top hip-hop artists and sold at select, trendy boutiques like Fred Segal. As a result of his early success, not only did Dzienciol cultivate key relationships with celebrities but was also offered to design shoes for Tommy Hilfiger. He declined the opportunity in order to complete his education at Beverly Hills High. By 18 he was working for many different fashion brands which allowed him to travel to fashion capitals like Paris and Milan where Dzienciol quickly learned and integrated himself into the European nightlife scene.
Realizing the parallel qualities of fashion and hospitality, Dzienciol’s passion for style inevitably led him to fill a void in the L.A. nightlife scene. Dzienciol was able to infuse his fashion sensibility and creative vision with the re-opening of the legendary L.A. nightclub, Guy’s.
Over the next few years, he built on his success and premiered the popular and trendsetting ultra lounge, Trousdale, in partnership with nightlife veteran Brent Bolthouse, on Sunset Blvd., in West Hollywood. Dzienciol enlisted celebrity fashion stylist Jessica Paster to design the staffs uniforms, which gained major exposure in GQ, WWD & other high fashion publications.
In 2011, Dzienciol opened The Beverly. He designed a glamorously rustic, gold-accented, farmhouse-inspired nightclub and executed an intimate indoor-outdoor nightlife experience in the heart of West Hollywood. He enlisted Bravo’s Top Chef Marcel Vigneron, best known for his Molecular Gastronomy cooking style, to create liquid- nitrogen custom concoctions.
After a long and very successful run, beating out numerous nightclub competitors opening and closing while Trousdale still remained on the forefront of the nightlife scene and regularly featured in national weekly news publications, Trousdale closed in 2012. Dzienciol along with actor David Arquette, went back to the drawing board to re-conceptualize and open Bootsy Bellows.
Dzienciol has hosted pop-ups of his proprietary nightlife ventures internationally, during Paris Fashion Week, Cannes Film Festival, Coachella and SuperBowl. He has also been extremely successful at creating proprietary events, like “A Night In Venice” at Mr. C’s Hotel in Beverly Hills, part of the renowned Cipriani brand. Building on this partnership, he developed “Mr. C Yacht Club”, an exclusive nautical-inspired poolside brunch party.
Dzienciol’s venues, parties and events attract Hollywood’s hottest stars and globally recognized VIP’s. Under 30, Dzienciol is one of the youngest entrepreneurs in the stylish L.A. hospitality scene. Bringing a fresh young perspective, his experiences, expertise and trendsetting concepts have made him a sought after commodity in nightlife and as a result he founded, Bartelier Group.
Recently splitting from his partners at Bootsy Bellows, Dzienciol's current focus is on 1 OAK & The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel's Theater & Nightclub, Beacher's Madhouse.
